Since 1973: The Story of The Nordmann
Every real Christmas tree we deliver carries a bit of family history with it. Here's how The Nordmann went from a single market stall to real Christmas tree delivery across London and Surrey.
1973 — A Stall Beside Mr Ferrari's Shop
The Nordmann began in 1973, selling real Christmas trees alongside Mr Ferrari's fruit and veg shop in Wimbledon. It started small — a handful of trees, sold face to face, one Christmas at a time.
1990 — Our First Delivery
What had been a stall you visited became a service that came to you. Our first tree delivery in 1990 marked the shift from a seasonal market stall to a proper local tree delivery business.
2000 — The Lanesborough
By 2000, our reputation for quality had reached one of London's most prestigious addresses — The Lanesborough hotel became our first hotel client, trusting us with the kind of tree that has to be right, every single time.
2010 — A New Generation
In 2010, Daniel took over the day-to-day running of the business, growing the operation from a single-van delivery service to a two-van operation covering far more of London.
2020 — Free Delivery Through Covid
When the pandemic changed what Christmas looked like for everyone, we introduced free delivery to make sure a real tree was still something every family could bring into their home, without adding to the pressure of that year.
2022 to Today — Growing Across London & Surrey
Since 2022 we've continued expanding — more vans, more depots, and delivery now reaching right across London and out into Surrey from our Banstead and Guildford depots. What hasn't changed is the same thing that mattered in 1973: a real, freshly cut tree, delivered properly.
